Today’s Cup 225 was transacted at Starbucks, zip code 97301. It was one of those rarer occasions in which I purchased my iced tea in the store, instead of the drive-thru, all of which lends itself to the funny-awkward-surprised response from the day’s unsuspecting patron. In this case, after asking the kind gentleman in line if I could buy his coffee, he joked that I couldn’t buy him coffee because he was a tea drinker. I smiled, laughed back and wanted to say, “Look here, after 225 days of this coffee-buying-gig, I’ve heard all the jokes, just give the barista your order!” Without too much drama, I just explained that it’s something I like to do. His grateful smile and quick wit was truly appreciated, as was the friendly barista who made the transaction happen flawlessly.
So here’s to another day and another round of Fully Caffeinated Generosity and Hope. Until next time.
