Today’s Cup 186 was transacted at Starbucks, zip code 97071. Unlike my typical morning drive-thru routine, I entered the store, and then ordered a soy latte. I asked the woman next to me if I could buy her daily coffee and she politely replied: “Oh no, that’s ok, I buy the expensive $4.00 coffee.” I laughed and said: “I drink $4.00 coffees too, go ahead and order!” She happily ordered and profusely thanked me, and then joked about it being her lucky day. I mentioned she might want to buy a lottery ticket or too–that perhaps it was her lucky day. The barista then handed off the drinks, and as I left the store she and the patron yelled out: “Thanks for the coffee Francis, have a great day!” I laughed again. Francis scores again–another day down in the mission of Fully Caffeinated Generosity and Hope. Until next time.
