Today’s Cup 158 was transacted at Starbucks, zip code 97303. It was a quiet, early morning drive-run, with only a single black sedan queued up in my rear-view. As we waited, the friendly barista chatted a bit and asked if I had enjoyed any of the local rodeos over the holiday. You see, the local rodeos, farming, markets and fairs are just a few of the things that occupy the locals, and tourists willing to get out of the suburbs. I gave her a polite head shake and a no. I also spared her the details of my current (and hectic) schedule which prevented me from such hot, dusty and time-consuming endeavors.
With a quick flick of the scanner, the barista rang up the $2.48 order behind me. It wasn’t anything fancy, but it was a simple gift intended to make that stranger’s day. Just yet another simple moment in this weblog, as I track 365 Cups of Fully Caffeinated Generosity and Hope. So until next time, and until that next rodeo of kindness. Can I have a YeeHaw?
