Cup 151

Cup 151Today’s Cup 151 was transacted at Starbucks, zip code 97303. It was late in the evening, and the drive-thru was vacant, but the barista was happy to hold the standard $5 for the next patron. The friendly barista, whom I’ve named Mr. Loose Change Barista, ensured that me that more traffic was to follow as the drive-thru is  now running on a late summer-hours schedule.

As I waited for my small latte, and simultaneously dug through my purse, searching for loose change, Mr. Loose Change Barista entertained me by sharing stories about patrons who’ve paid in nickels. And dimes. And other tedious combinations, all for a quick latte in the drive-thru.

It was a simple day. Nothing too out-of-the-ordinary, but another day down in the spirit of Fully Caffeinated Generosity and Hope.  Maybe next time I will pay in nickels. Or pennies. You think I’m joking, but I just might.

I went back to the beginning of your blog and checked out this “cup idea”. Pretty cool. One of the Christian radio stations near where I live have a “Pay it forward” campaign. The idea is that when you go through the drive-through of anything – Maccas, Hungry Jacks, Coffee place, whatever, you pay for the order of the person behind you. LOL just hoping that it’s not a family order for dinner 😀 God bless the future days ahead for you
