Today’s cup of kindness was transacted with a personal twist at Starbucks, zip code 97303. It was a simple $3.95 iced Venti coffee for a very nice woman named Andrea. Although she was a little confused by my offer to buy her drink, she obliged with a very grateful message of thanks and a smile. As I sensed her initial hesitation to accept my offer, I quickly replied: “You see, usually I do this in the drive-thru, and it saves everyone the awkward uncomfortableness. I know it’s so much easier when it’s anonymous.” She smiled, thanked me again, and asked if I was buying her coffee for a specific reason. I replied: “No, it’s really just for fun!” And it was. Another fun day in the spirit of Fully Caffeinated Generosity and Hope. Francis scores again.
