Cup 32

Cup 32Today’s cup of goodwill  was successfully transacted at Starbucks, zip code 97303. After a long day at work, I made way into the drive-thru, looking forward to a hot latte. On a whim, I asked the barista if she had my favorite snowman cookies. She yelled brightly through the speaker “Oh my gosh, we do have snowman cookies. Come on up!” I had to laugh, not sure if this resounding enthusiasm meant she was thrilled to unload stale holiday cookies, or seriously happy to fill my order. Come to find out, the team of baristas stumbled upon a box of these holiday cookies earlier in the day. I guess those cookies were just waiting for post-Christmas withdrawal affected patrons like me. Yahoo.  It was just what I needed. That silly snowman cookie completed my day.

As the barista excitedly told the story of the box-o-snowmen, she thanked me for purchasing the order for the sedan in my rear-view. I had to laugh, as the stranger’s total rang up to ten bucks and change. I wondered if they bought the entire box of those snowmen cookies. Or a beefsteak. Who knows? But either way, it was all good. Here’s to another day in the mission to  send out Fully Caffeinated Generosity and Hope, one cup of coffee at a time.  Until tomorrow.
